Cycling grandmother Margot Ward is looking forward to a fantastic Mediterranean break after helping top Majorca beach hotel Sis Pins make its welcome to guests even more wonderful.

The 67-year-old visits the sunshine island four times a year and pedals up to 800km around its majestic countryside during her stays.

Now Margot is getting ready to get in the saddle for her fifth visit of the year after winning a free seven day break at Sis Pins.

She will jet out to the Sis Pins beach hotel, Majorca, on the seafront in Port de Pollença later this year.

Cappuccino’s café/restaurant, on the Sis Pins beach front terrace, will also provide a complimentary meal for the lucky winner.

Part of the renowned CAPPUCCINO Grand Café chain, it gives customers the chance to enjoy captivating views and top quality food and drink, whether they are seated inside or outside on the fabulous terrace overlooking the sea.

Retired accountancy and computer worker Margot, from Edinburgh, will be returning to Sis Pins after winning a competition to say what she liked most about the hotel.

More than 500 entries were received and her innovative comments ensured a winning entry.

Margot said the staff were wonderfully friendly and mentioned the perfect location and the charm and beauty the hotel has to offer.

She said she looked forward to the day an airline would provide a service from Edinburgh to Majorca all year round so she could enjoy the comforts of Sis Pins more often.

Margot said: “I just love my cycling breaks in Majorca and Sis Pins is such a wonderful place to stay.

“I’ve been treated fantastically during my stays there and can’t wait to get back and enjoy its hospitality once again.

“It really is in a tremendous position on the island and the staff are so very friendly and helpful. You really get to know them.”

Margot, who is originally from Derby, added: “I cycle a lot when I am out in Majorca and have covered 800km on some trips. It really is a magical place for cycling.”

She took up cycling again after her retirement and added: “It’s such great fun and a marvellous way of keeping fit and active.”

Geoff Hopkins, proprietor of Sis Pins, said: “Margot is a worthy winner of our competition and we are delighted she will be returning as our guest.

“We are committed to continually improving our service and to making every guest’s stay a truly special experience.

“That is why we decided on this competition. We want to know what people think of us and to take on board their suggestions.

“Our three winners were chosen for the standard of their response. They really did make the most helpful of suggestions to us, which is great.

“I’m sure Margot will see that the fabulous service she received on her last stay is even better now as a result.”

The Majorca beach hotel is located in a pedestrian area on the seafront in Majorca’s Port de Pollença. Most of its air conditioned rooms features a balcony.

Guests can sit and enjoy great views of the sea from the café-terrace at Hotel Sis Pins. The hotel has its own private terrace on the beach, just metres away.

All rooms at the Sis Pins Hotel come with satellite TV, a full bathroom and facilities to allow for a wonderful holiday, including Wi-Fi in the hotel lounge.

Palma and Palma Airport are around 60 km away from Sis Pins. A number of bars, restaurants and shops can also be found within walking distance.
